I don’t intend to be a performing flea anymore. I was the dreamweaver, but although I’ll be around I don’t intend to be running at 20,000 miles an hour trying to prove myself. I don’t want to die at 40. -John Lennon
John Lennon- A prophet?
There are many “clues” within the Beatles legacy that point to John Lennon’s early demise. Did he know? Was it planned? Is it just another “Beatles coincidence”?
Official story from Wikipedia:
He was shot by Mark David Chapman in the archway of the building where he lived, The Dakota, in New York City on 8 December 1980. Lennon had just returned from Record Plant Studio with his wife, Yoko Ono.
After sustaining four fatal gunshot wounds, Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at Roosevelt Hospital. He was 40 years old. At the hospital, it was stated that nobody could have lived for more than a few minutes after sustaining such injuries. Shortly after local news stations reported Lennon’s death, crowds gathered at Roosevelt Hospital and in front of the Dakota. Lennon was cremated on 10 December 1980 at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York; the ashes were given to Ono, who chose not to hold a funeral for him. The first media report of Lennon’s death to a US national audience was announced by Howard Cosell, on ABC’s Monday Night Football.
John Lennon was a man of many talents and gifts. Born during WWII on October 9th, 1940, John would prove to be one of the most prolific and well-known musicians in history. It has been reported that he scored a 165 on an IQ examination he took as a child. Given all of the misconceptions and dramatizations surrounding this man- it is difficult to determine what is and what is not- unless you get it right from the source. John Lennon Himself. Even then- you run into a few “issues”.
The first reference to John’s demise may have been during the Beatles first visit to America in 1964. Prior to the filming of their historic performance on the Ed Sullivan show, Paul, John and Ringo (George was sick with a high temperature and did not come along) had a photo shoot in New York City’s Central Park. Several of the photos were shot with The Dakota building in the background. His American experience as a Beatle began and ended in the same place.
More oddities at the Dakota
According to wikipedia:
The Dakota was constructed between October 25, 1880, and October 27, 1884. The architectural firm of Henry Janeway Hardenbergh was commissioned to create the design for Edward Clark, head of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. The firm also designed the Plaza Hotel. Source
The following image is a still from the Beatles film Help! which was released in 1965. If you have seen the film- then you know that it is a bit on the side of the absurd. But oddly enough even with its’ absurdities, this shot includes an antique Singer Sewing Machine which just happens to be framing a statue of the Hindu Goddess Kali. If this was the only ‘strange coincidence’ involving John Lennon and links to the Dakota and/or the situation in which he was killed, then it would be easier to dismiss outright. But it’s not. There are many other examples, and many other oddities surrounding John and the Dakota building.
Fast forward a few years until 1967. The Beatles landmark album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” is released. The cover of this album has said to be some sort of a code with hidden, esoteric meanings and symbolism. The now infamous drum skin from that album appears to say “I ONE I X ^ HE DIE” when a mirror is held horizontally across the center.
This has long been associated with “Paul is Dead” phenomenon- and although important, we will leave that part of the discussion out of this blog for another time. However, I would like to point out (as others have done prior) that the “L” and the “H” from “Lonely Hearts” point alphanumerically to “8” and “12” respectively. (The date of John Lennon’s Death). The mirrored message also indicates a future event- “He Die” rather than “He Died” may be quite significant.
Also on the Sgt. Pepper cover, partially obscured by Ringo is Tim Carrey from Stanley Kubrick’s “The Killing” He is pointing a gun directly at John. Kubrick has been known to throw in references to various conspiracy theories within his films. Including many references to the “Beatles Mysteries” as well. For a detailed account of these instances, The Blog Of Caverns is a great place to start.
A Few months later- Magical Mystery Tour is released. On December 8th, 1967 in the UK to be precise. Exactly 13 years prior to the death of John Lennon. Inside the album is a book filled with images from the making of the film and album. One of these images is seen below. John Lennon, in disguise as a medicine man- standing next to a sign which reads “The Best Way To Go is by M D and Co.” MDC being the initials of Mark David Chapman, the man who would kill John Lennon exactly 13 years later.
1969 during John and Yoko’s “Bed In” honeymoon, cameras are rolling when John decides to read an interesting letter he received from a fan. Why this letter was chosen to be filmed and recorded as John read it, always seemed a bit suspicious to me. None the less- it is what it is I suppose.
“I believe there will be an attempt to assassinate you- the spirit which gave me this information was Brian Epstein” – awkward laughter –
A few years later, 1975 John and Yoko appear on the David Frost Show. They chose to sing their song titled “Attica Prison”. A song attempting to protest against the incarceration of inmates. Attica Prison is the prison that future assailant Mark David Chapman would spend the remainder of his life for the crime he committed 5 years after this broadcast. After John and Yoko’s song, they took a few questions from the audience. One of which was from a woman and a young-man that was sitting next to her. A man that looks a lot like… Mark David Chapman! One of the questions this woman asked was “What if an Attica Prison Inmate killed one of your family members?”
Sure- so all of this can be (and has been) chocked up to coincidence, and probably- it is. However, I am not one who typically believes in coincidence. For me, things are done for a reason. Although perhaps, not exactly known at the time- in hindsight it all “Comes Together” so neatly, so perfectly, so precise.
John Lennon was an amazing man with amazing talent and intellect. He believed himself to be a genius- and while I can not confirm nor deny this personally, his high IQ scores as well as events surrounding his life leads me to believe that yes- this man was highly intelligent, and quite possibly genius- able to know things that we may never know. Also very likely- once Yoko came on to the scene, her extensive knowledge of the occult and astrological data would surely point to eminent danger if it was truly “in the cards” for Lennon. And if that is so- Yoko would know.
I am not the first or the only Beatles enthusiast to notice these Prophecies of Lennon, and I am sure I have missed quite a few.
This blog will remain unfinished, as I intend to add more examples in the future. Please comment if you notice something I have overlooked.
